Hourly Beep Privacy Policy

This is the privacy policy of Hourly Beep, an app for iPhone by micropixels. This website has its own policy.

Last updated 17 October 2026.

Hourly Beep has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your schedules, sounds and settings stay on your iPhone.

Beeps every few minutes

iOS lets an app keep only a limited number of notifications waiting. When a schedule needs more than that, for example beeps every few minutes, Hourly Beep uses a small server of ours to keep them coming. Your iPhone sends it a push address that Apple issues for the app, your time zone and the times, sounds and names of the beeps in the coming week. The server uses them only to wake the app so it can schedule more beeps, and to play a beep itself if the app could not. It does not know who you are.

Each time it checks in, the app also sends its version and a few facts about the phone's state, such as Low Power Mode and the battery level. These are written to the server's log to help fix missed beeps and are not stored with your schedule. The log may also hold the IP address a request came from, and it is kept for at most seven days.

When the app no longer needs the server, it tells the server to forget it. If the app stops checking in, the server forgets it after 30 days. The server runs on Cloudflare, and the beeps it plays are delivered by Apple's push notification service.

Purchases and ratings

Hourly Beep Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and tells the app only whether Pro is unlocked. When the app asks for a rating, it uses Apple's own prompt.
